Thread Starter | Anybody running two DAW's together...
So I will have a G5 and G4 in my studio, and I'm wondering how I could incorporate the two together. I have a 002r and a MBox2 thus I was thinking about just making the G4 + MBox kind of like an effects unit to run some stereo reverb or something to take some of the load off my G5. Would I be fighting latency or would this even work? I guess I may have clocking issues huh? I clock to a Rosendahl Nanosync but I could set the MBox/G4 to just get its clock from spdif and it would be daisy chaining from the G5? I'm working with some bigger sessions these days 32 tracks and want to be able to put eq's comp's on more channels and still be able to use some other heavy duty reverbs like Altiverb and TLSpace. Anybody do this, run two computers side by side? Shoot 002r's are so cheap maybe I should buy another and run them together!?! sweet sam |

A G5 has no problems running several heavy duty reverb plugins. So I guess it's not worth the effort to link the 2 computers.

I'd see an advantage in having one as a soft sampler for an orchestral library with fx and stuff, and the other just your audio tracks, etc

yes, old G4 as main station, and a windows machine for softsynths. conected via ethernet. works fine
