Length Midi Cable...

Hi,

I was wondering what's the maximum lenght for a midi cable? I have a new keyboard here which I want to put a bit further from the desk where I have the interface and the computer etc. Would a 3 meter cable be OK?

3m isn't really a problem.

Usually with a quality cable, 10M is ok. After that you start getting some hung notes, and some wierdness. Supposedly the absolute maximum is 50' (15M).
There are products on the market that can increase the signal on a MIDI cable so that it's possible to run for much longer distances if needs be, but if you're only needing 3M you'll be absolutely fine.
