Simple Tracking Software n\Needed (Mac)

Does anyone have a recommended tracking software for Mac? I am using Logic Pro 8. Lately I have noticed latency on a few of my recordings, I have had to nudge the tracks into place after tracking. I want a light weight software i can track with. Preferably a cheap one.

I remember tracking bass in Belmont University's recording dept. Nashville about 5 years ago and the guy engineering the recordings was using a tracking software. He later transfered the files over to Protools for editing. I was wondering what all options there are for this. After doing some searches, I didn't find very much useful info.

If anyone could point me in the right direction i would appreciate it.

thanks,
matt
