hmmm...no-go for me. Looks nice though. And I like how a 7200 RPM 100GB drive is a no-cost option, although you lose 20GB from stock configuration (big deal).

Bring back firewire 800, or add an additional firewire 400 port on a separate bus and I'm sold.

I'm not tryin to push the mac at all, but I was talkin w/ co-workers today about this unit. The 17 inch DOES HAVE THE FW800 (read the at-a glance section of that page). My co-worker is pissed cause he bought one a few months ago and can't really dump that one just to buy a new one so he gets back his FW800.

Why did they had to get rid of the PCMCIA slot with the macbooks!?

I really want a macbook instead of a Vaio because of the bootcamp thing, but I want to use my RME Digiface

Ah-ha! thank you for the correction. I wonder if they'll be adding the additional firewire port to the 15" too.

I'm definitely getting one since they made the 2.16GHz standard and kept the FW800. Now I just need to sell my 17" PowerBook and order the new one!
