ProTools V7 Suprise

This probably could be in the moan zone....

...but I press on ;
Today I was with a friend just goofing with some sounds in reason and protools 7. He was some ridiculous keyboard lick using rhodes samples in Reasons NN-19. I had redrum already open and a neat little back-beat playing, but the tempo was way off. So I quickly adjusted ProTools Tempo to match his playing.

It sounded about 100bpm, so I input that in the transport window, and the tempo of the protools session + reason via rewire - changed apporpriately. However I was still off by a few bpm.

Instinctively when I then went to tap the tempo into ProTools using the tranport window... I discovered the Suprise : ITS GONE IN VERSION 7!

Why on earth would they remove the tap tempo feature from the transport??? Is it somewhere else now???? I know I should have noticed this sooner, but what gives.

its not gone. go into prefrences and under midi options check the box tap tempo from midi. then highlight the bpm display in the transport window and you should be ready to go. the tap tempo was removed from the transport window in 6.7 but works
the same as described above.

Appreciate the Reply...

Unfortunately I did exactly as u said, and The Transport Window is still behaving exactly the same as before (I clicked every square inch multiple times and no tap tempo in sight). Transport window has extended controls open, MIDI Controls, and Counters Window all enabled.

Any Ideas?

Send a message via AIM to Red_venom
Go to the tempo box and select it, then tap the tempo by pressing "T." Dont know why changed this, but thats how it is now(Maybe this worked before, but I just clicked the icon).

Thanks Very Much.

I Guess I am OK with pushing T to Tap in the Tempo, but I do miss the little "(1,2,3,4) " Counter in the Transport Window When Tapping in Tempo With the Mouse, in Version 6.4 or less.

Regards,
Scott in Toronto
