Anyone using Waves LoAir? Worth $20?

They're advertising it as "plugin of the month" for $20. Sounds like a no-brainer, but I'd love to hear some feedback.

Just bought it!
Was waiting for a while for the price to drop on Loair. It has been discussed in Gearslutz and other forums (use the search function) as a nice tool to beef up the low end.

How does it compare to Ren Bass and Maxx Bass?

Ren Bass and Maxx Bass create upper harmonics to improve the bass perception.
LoAir creates subharmonics, to actually make the bass become bigger/fatter/louder...

LoAir also makes it possible to make a LFE track, someting you can't do (I think) with Ren Bass and Maxx Bass.

LoAir for $19 is a no-brainer!

Great plugin. I have been using it for more than one year for generating subharmonics for my kicks and some bass lines. I bought it for full price and I think it is worth it, so for 20$ this plugin is a steal. Like it has already been mentioned it is just the oposite thing from RenBass and MaxxBass.

Welp, I bought it but can't authorize since the invoice they sent had a fragmented serial with only 4 digits (in the past it's been easy as pie). Trying to call but I keep getting disconnected from the sales admin.

For now I'm using the demo. It's a pretty cool plugin but easy to overdo it so I have to be careful not to create a muddy mess. Not bad for $20- just gotta wait for the tech issues to get sorted.

it seems that waves had some trouble, I had the same problem (bought from waves universe) but just got a new serial number and it works now.

I've got a question for those of you who use this for music. I understand the benefits for surround systems, which use subwoofers, etc.

But for music, I often find myself high-passing the kick and bass to a certain extent, to get rid of some excessive bass when played on various systems like my car, etc.

So I'm wondering if using this would just undo that and give me the same problems I'm trying to avoid.

Or do you find that mixing in just the right amount can still enhance things without being overwhelming?

I like this plug-in for adding electronic weight to acoustic kick drums.

If you do a low-cut on a kick to get rid of mud, you can bring back some of the oomph without losing clarity.

The last line of your post is exactly the right answer mate. This plugin is amazing especially on Kick drums. Especially when used in Parallel Comp Mode and just dial the right amount can bring that amazing Sub harmonix u wish to bring out. When working in Urban drums music its a must (to my experience), makes life easier. And again can be used in many many other things like Sound Fx with big booms etc... if you wanna rumble the place and much more.

Try it & u'll see, trust your eats

Good luck!!
