Inexpensive setup?

I want a hobbie setup for home. I play guitar, bass, some keys and will use programmed drums. Write mostly pop/rock/metal. I have some equipment already really just need ...

1. Computer (don't really want to build)
2. Interface (only record one maybe two inputs at a time)
3. Software (Daw?, EZ drummer?)

Budget - under $1000.00

Ideas??

Thanks,
Jeff

Dell PC (or any other brand available in BestBuy) $600
Roland Quadcapture $270
DAW, Reaper $60
EZDrummer, $80

Total $1010

Enjoy.

Make item one as 1. Monitors (reserve extra around $1000 and you'll be up with good start)

Well, he doesn't need 4 inputs, so I guess he could save some money and go for a 2-channel interface.

For USB[everything,almost...now],if one can't afford RME,I think the Roland Quad or Octacapture[VS pres] are the 2nd best choice for an interface IMO.Unfortunately the Roland "Duo Capture"[only 2 in's] is NOT in the same category AT ALL,despite sharing a similar sounding name.I initially wanted a Quad Capture, but thought after getting a fantastic discount[Monitors,Workstation, etc etc] by buying from the US,I felt guilty, and bought "local"........BIG mistake!,a major pro audio store in AU: "Videoguys",let me buy and pay for an interface that was "out of stock"!short story....I ended up with the UA25-EX[usb 1.1]The store in the US[gigasonic CA.]had the Quad/Octo/BabyF.,you name it,they had it.Arrrghhh. As "Masaaki" posted elsewhere how people spend $1000 on a computer, but then cheap out on the interface........I tried hard not to,but
