vocal harmonizing effect "up in the woods"

Im still drooling over this song "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1_cePGP6lbU&feature=related"

I really love the vocal harmonization here. It sounds like some sort of talkbox, but yet its different.

Can anyone help how such an effect can be achieved?
Also how can you achieve the block chords in the harmonies???

I'm not sure, but my theory is that it was sung with no effects onto several tracks, then each track heavily autotuned, seperately.

Anybody else agree or disagree?

I saw a guy fooling around with the eventide pitchfactor and the harmonizing block chords thing was there automatically generated, getting that "one of these nights" Eagles/Ratatat sound.

You can trigger voices with notes.
Celemony might have developed this kind of thing I think.
Vielklang is now on sale.

However, in the video you firstly postest there are not all computer hamonized. Singer overdubbed several takes too.
