Yeah, that Harrison eq is really special. I like that one. Funny enough I love the UAD Cambridge. Probably my favorite eq plugin. I know it's been out a long time, but it really sounds awesome, and it's easier to set than alot of the UAD eq's. I hate turning knobs in software with a mouse. Kind of annoying. This plugin is like a better sounding Digi 7-band III. You just grab the frequency and move it to where you need.
UAD eq's have more of a sound than any other software eq's that I have used

I like pro-q because of ease of use and it's flexibility.
I don't know if it's a best sounding EQ but I think it's descent sounding as well.
I'd use different comps for different situations.

I've tried the plugin, and use the console daily, it's a fantastic EQ, but nothing exciting.. a very good digital eq... No mojo, vibe, modelled transformers or nothing

some guys argue that one can replicate any plugin eq curve with any other.
The only difference seems to be the saturation, bandwidth limit, softclips and so on. Linear phase eqs work differently.

The T-Racks EQP1-A sounds amazing. Works great on drums. I don't know if it sounds anything like the Pultec that it's modelling, but it's great either way.

waves v-eq, softube pe1c, waves ssl channel (E and G), urs fulltec, and many others... each is better or worse at certain things... the duende native vocalstrip for example is a really simple but useful eq for vocals (and not only an eq obviously)... especially when paired with another warmer eq like a pultec emulation or such.. waves api eqs are also pretty nice on guitars and drums...

Ive been very impressed by this plugin

MeldaProduction MDynamicEq, the ultimate to-do parametric equalizer

adding dynamics to boosts is very musical. and it has all the standard eq feats.

You know what I find works well for EQ every once and a while if FilterFreak 1 or 2 from ST!

For surgical stuff - Epure 2 or Sonnox
For color - Waves SSL Channel
For clean EQ - Softtube Passive Active Pack

This is all you really need.

DMG, Algorithmix, and the included eqs in Sequoia, plus the various Waves choices. Really, the Algo stuff is pretty comprehensive but awfully expensive. I'm not the eq maniac that so many others seem to be, if I place the right mic in the right spot I don't have to eq much.
