Simple 'Mastering' Plug - To monitor levels

I'm wondering if there might be some sort of simple plug that I could throw on my stereo sum before bouncing the track that would basically analyze the signal. something that would simply show me how loud (in dB form) the track is. I need to make sure that I'm bouncing tracks at a consistent volume. This way when I put a CD together to show friends or what not, the volume isn't all over the place from track to track.

Currently I just watch the level of the signal on the mixer in Logic and try to keep it the same ball park from song to song. Or compare the bounced tracks in iTunes. Is there a simpler way to keep levels consistent from project to project?

I was going to suggest the same plugin as Drew posted a link too.

They also have a freeware version with less bells and whistles.

But IMHO much more important is to calibrate your volume control. You can turn it louder and softer while mixing but it's good to have some sort of reference position.

I suggest you read this article from Bob Katz
