Midi Sport and Similar Midi Input Outputs

IM thinking of picking up the M-audio Midi Sport Im looking toward the direction of the largest one, I'm also interested in seeing what the market has to offer when it comes to these kind of products anyone got any suggestions ?

in order to make a recommendation and before you buy something you might not be completely happy with. what are you user requirements/needs. ??
channels you need ?? other needs ??
there are a lot of midi devices out there.
do you have a number of midi modules currently that you wish to drive from the pc ??

The one Im looking at has 8 I/O's, I'm open to all suggestions though, I want to see whats out there.
