Focusrite Scarlett MixControl question if anyone knows:

Hi All,

I'm using the Focusrite Scarlett 18i6 with Pro Tools 9 on an iMac. I'd like to hook up a SPDIF connectable hardware device (in this case a TC Voiceworks) to the Scarlett's S/PDIF connection. It appears to me that SPDIF is only set up for mix output routing, but I'm sure I'm mistaken.

Does anyone know how to set this up? How do I setup the Scarlett's SPDIF to act as a send/return for a piece of hardware?

Thanks for taking the time!

Hi,

You'd need to choose a separate set of outputs other than 1 and 2 in Pro Tools to feed the SPDIF, eg outputs 5 and 6. Then in Scarlett MixControl route DAW 5 and DAW 6 to the SPDIF outputs. The SPDIF inputs are inputs 9 and 10 so you'll need to select these as the inputs.

Let me know if you have any problems with setting this up.

Best regards,

Chris

Honestly I'm just having trouble getting the Mixcontrol thing in general. I really want to use my Scarlett without the dang mixcontrol. Can this be done?
