| "Built-In Audio on PowerBook/MacBook Pro" question Hi All, Can someone please tell me if the "built-in audio" on a PowerBook G4 or the new MacBook pro will run at 48K like a G5 does? I cannot find an answer on the Apple site. I am looking to buy a new laptop (to replace my iBook G4 which only has 44.1K onbaord) and am wondering about installing Nuendo 3 on it to be able to do edits and such while travelling. Thanks in advance. Jim |

| Thanks Adam. I was planning to get a MacBook but Steinberg tells me that it won't be supported until Nuendo 4 and they don't know when that will be out. I guess I will stick with buying a PowerBook for now so I can run what I have but the MacBook is awful tempting......... |

| Why don't buy a MacBook Pro and (with Apple's BootCamp) install windows also and use Nuendo 3 under Widows until v4 is released? It's the real deal imho.

| Thank OMU, I had actually come to that same conclusion this week. I am going to first try N3 on it as Steinberg now says that it "may" work with no problems but that it is just not going to be officially supported until 4. Regards, Jim |

| As long as you install it on Windows, I can't see the problem. It is a pc in this case. What's the difference between one pc and another? A home build pc is officially getting support and a MacBook is not? I think it wold work jst fine. Probably better than many pc-s.

| I'm going to first try it as a native Mac installation and see what happens. If it does not perform properly that way I will try it using the Windows emulator. I'll post the results once it's working. Thanks again. |

| I doubt you can use it with a emulator. Windows is very slow under emulators. The native use is definately the way to go. This is what I'm saying; you can't go wrong going native.

| Thanks again OMU. I actually meant using BootCamp when I was talking about an emulator. I did not realize that BootCamp is not really an emulator but instead lets you run actual Windows on the Mac. Thanks for the link. I think I am set either way now. |
