reason users... matrix editor question

anyone here that uses Reason... do you actually use the Matrix editor for anything? I'm wondering if maybe I'm missing the point on this thing. I sat down and messed with it the other day and found it to be just about the most uninspiring tool I've ever used. Anyone care to share any cool uses for this thing? (if there are any)

I think you mean the pattern sequencer ? You could use it like redrum where you can use it as a loop device or create multiple patterns and switch up the patterns on the fly, you can use it with any of the synthesizers, just make sure you in and out it right. I think there is a few usefull purposes for it.

you can use the matrix to send cv to synths to control modulaiton, filter, etc. things can get pretty interesting when you use the same synth patch with a variety of cv patterns from the matrix...

I have used it in the past as sort of an arpeggiator, working both notes and filters driving Subtractor or Malstrom.

I used to use the Matrix but I realized I could just input the notes directly on the sequencer track itself, and it saves a step. Also, I feel like I have more control over my sequences. I'm glad I used the Matrix at first, because its how I learned how to edit the sequencer track, an important beginner step.
