Thread Starter | THIS FIXED MY CUBASE MIDI WOES! READ ALL!
SO the best configuration with cubase sx 2.2.5 and the rme dsp9652 is " midi inputs emulated with timestamp on, midi outputs non emulated windows timestamp off. so i've only done some test for a while now, more than a half hr, not with a heavy system load on, and yeah my external midi is tight, and it records me on the metronome, not late or early. and yes, finnally it records my soul when playing... http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail...l/1105467085/1 i think the pci latency tool where i set everything but the sound card to 32, and the sound card to 255 really helps, along with turning off tons of services in the START->CONTROL PANEL->ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS->SERVICES HELPED. HERE IS WHAT I SHUT OFF: Automatic updates: disable dns client: disable error reporting service: disable eventlog: disable fast user switching: disable help and support: disable human interface devices: disable internet connection firew3all: disable ipsec: disable messanger: disable network dde: disable network dde dsdm: disable portable media serial number: disable print spooler: disable protected storage: disable remote accesss auto connectio nmanager: disable remote access connection manager: disable remote desktop help session manager: disable remote registry: disable routing and remote acess: disable secondary login: disable security accounts manager: disable smart card: disable smart card helper: disable ssdp discovery service: disable taske scheduler: disable telephony: disable telnet: disable terminal services: disable themes: disable upload manager: disable web client: disable windows management instrumentation: disable windows management instrumentation driver extensions: disable windwos time: disable wireless zero configuration: disable wmi performance adapter: disable processor scheduling is set to background services too. i did that. now. its records me perfectly.... but keep in mind folx, this is for sx 2.2.5. and i did move the port enabler file too, and that didnt fix it either. but i still use that in combination with all of this.. it works.. i'm amazed.... i will test it more and more and post updates.... the midi still glitches on occasion, it puts the first note in the middle sometimes, but not that much... enough to where i can live with this... i dont know if this stuff will make sx3 work or not.. but i bet it can't hurt to try.... so this is a hardware and windows set up thing to the best that i can tell.. i wish more people would post this infor everywhere and see if it helps you with your midi woes! i think i deserve a medal now, i dont think any program should take this much tweaking to get running proper.. steinberg needs to make this a guide and give this infor to everyone who is having midi issues. what is my system? intel p4 2.4 533 fsb, 845 chipset, intel mb, plextor dvd, 512 mb ram, rme dsp9652, front end via adat adc=ksp8, dac=ksp8, eventide via spdif in and out, xp pro no service pack. mb drivers installed, chandler tg2 mic pre/di for tracking gain control. access virus c, roland jp8080, micromoog modified, roland sh2, roland jupiter 8. fly yo! my system is dedicated for music only. no web access, no apps other than audio and now fully tweaked out .. finally stable, and everything... phew.. but i will test more and more to make sure.. i suggest that you use a dual boot on your system, and disable everything that is not being used for music, all cards and things... make one for the net, and one for the music.. this will make it so your tweaks wont mess up your net machine... i have two comptuers a music box and a games net box.. the best way... try this on any version of nuendo or sx |
