Waves in Logic does NOT do Side Chain!

Well.... I found out Waves does not do side chaining in Logic.

What the heck!.... side chaining is one of the great pro tricks there is.

I'm very disapointed in this.

Waves may remedy this in version 6 --- come on Waves - get it together.

So that means that there will be no ducking in Logic with waves....

Gads.... all that money spent and it would have been better with hardware.

Ya, I'm going much more hardware now.

Metric Halo Channel Strip also has sidechain limitations in Logic that it doesn't have in Pro Tools. You can't key from another channel like you can in PT.

So I think it's a limitation of Logic, not the fault of Waves or MH.

You CAN do side chains with many of Logic's own effects though!

URS comp/lim and logics own compressors easily allow sidechaining from any source routed to a bus...Waves never did so far

Waves plug-ins do have sidechain in Logic.

You just need the TDM version...

So for the time being you can use Logic's own compressor (remember to switch off Autogain) or the Ducker plug-in which offers a new feature that may come in handy.

Well sure I can use Logic's compressor.

I would rarely, if ever, use such a rough sounding tool. The Waves compressor sounds much better.

For the kind of cash Waves ask, I just plain EXPECT it to work.

So from now on, I'm reading the boards for several months before I commit to a piece of software.

SO : Warning to Logic owners... you are missing a piece of the puzzle when it comes to Waves compressors in Logic ---- at least for the time being untill they add the sidechains in.

Ah yes.... it's times like this that drive me back to hardware....

Thanks for the replies guys.
