Sooo, what's you verdict on the new plugs, gits'ngals?

How do you find the Ultrachannel compared to other 'strips'?

Link: Eventide

stunning. Short and simple .... The reverb is the best reverb plugin out there imvho. The harmonizer stuff is ... well ... eventide which speaks for itself and the new EQ and channelstrip plugins are up there with the very best.

Anyone else?

Come on, with all the Waves SSL hype that went on a few weeks ago..
Bet you don't dare to compare the two channelstrips
I will start testing tomorrow.

Haven't played with it too much, but the ultra channel is pretty insane. Haven't compared to the waves ssl. But this gets a lot done in one plug for a vocal. Awesome pitchshift, delays, and de-esser. EQ is a bit bland, but very usable and accurate. The strip may actually be cool enough for me to purchase the bundle. I really like the vintage filter sets as well. I don't really care for the verb.

I hate the fact they do not have AU plugs. And they do not even reply when asked about future plans. They just tell: we don't reply to these answers. I say: **** you, then! I would love to use their products, but with these replies it seems they are worse than Waves about dealing with customers.

I guess in this business you always have to deal with cocky attitudes........manufacturers not withstanding. Eventide is Eventide. It's the way they've always been. Only problem is........I can't live without 'em.

'Cause nothing sounds like an Eventide!

huh ? so the fact that they say 'we cannot tell anything about our future plans' is enough an argument to condemn their policy towards customers ?

fwiw ... rarely I've seen devoted and dedicated and smooth and quick customer support as with eventide.

As for revealing future plans ? ... Which company does that ? reveal what they're up to in the future ?

So imagine they would say : we are planning to support AU in the future . I'm sure your next question would be WHEN ? ... and if they're reply would be : 'we dunno yet' ... I'm sure you would say they suck because they don't know when right ?

Bad mouthing a company you apparently know nothing about is not cool
. And comparing them to waves is an insult imvho. You obviously have no idea ....

I cant say a bad word about eventide,

there support (not that ive needed much) is fantastic and there products even better (imhumbleo)

As an owner of an h8000 and an orville before that and owner of anthology what can I say! Apart from the Eventide beer bottle opener isnt as good as the rest of the product line!

Why should they divuldge there plans for the future?

Also if you bear in mind the fact that they stuck to to TDM probably for the simple reason there DSP doesnt need to change much in order to work , same chips in there boxes drive TDM.

Makes perfect sense to me.

I sound like a fanboy now so I will hush.

Cheers

I wish Eventide did a VST WinXP version....

One of the few plugins I miss from my PT days...

I know, I got a really beefy snare from using the EQ45.
Cool plugs, and compared to the price of a Waves bundle, it's a cool deal too.

Trying the Anthology II-bundle right now.
Great plugins, altough it seems to overlap with what I already own.
Especially SoundToys obviously.
So c'mon guys, the GS in me needs to be convinced why to get this bundle anyway!

For example; why would I need Octavox, when I have Digirack Pitch.
Factory/SoundBlender
EQ65/FilterFreak
Eventide Reverb/TL Space, Revibe
Band Delays/EchoBoy
etc...

Convincing? Bahhhh! A TRUE slut needs no convincing...except at the end of a whip...or paddle maybe...unless you are just trying to play hard to get?

I have been testing the Ultra Channel and the Waves SSL Channel and i would have to say i like both for different reasons.

Im fond of the Waves SSL probly for the obvious reasons being it sounds pretty "High End" IMO and it gives my tracks alot of punch and clarity and even a little warmth if i pump it like +10db

For the Eventide i must say i like it just as much for the Micro Pitch Shifters And Stereo Delays on each instance and the omnipressor is sure fun aswell.

The Eventide Reverb is also pretty good IMO, and has modulation which i like.

SO both are cool and alomst not comparable and they might give one great results if used in tandum :)
