Logic Pro 7, effecient routing to outboard gear.

Playin around with an outboard RNC. haven't really messed with any outboard stuff at this stage in the game. Right now I have the track that i want to compress set to Outs 7-8 ----> to the compressors ins. Compressors outs to Ins 1-2 on my interface. Then I set up an Aux track as an effect return. Everythings working fine. Im just wondering if this is the most effecient way to do this? Pretty basic question. This seems like the most simple way, and simple is usually best. Thanks.

The simplest way to use hardware in Logic is to use the i/o plugin (found in Logic's 'Helper' plugin sub-menu). Set this one up to use out 7-8 and in 1-2, save the setting and then just call up the plugin any time you want to use the RNC.
