| MIDI routing problem
I was helping a buddy of mine with his home setup and I'm stumped by a MIDI problem and hopefully you guys can help me out.
He's using a Yamaha controller that has an Output going into In 5 on his 002.
He has a Roland Super JV-1080 sound Module that has an Output going into In 6
I'm not really sure about the MIDI connections.
Ok, so in Pro Tools he recorded the string arrangement via MIDI which has it's Input set to the Yamaha and Output to the Roland. MIDI info recorded A-OK. Now he had a MONO Aux Track with Analog 6(which is the Roland) and it's Output was the monitors. This is where I'm confused. When you play back the track you can hear audio but the meter isn't moving on the Aux track. And when you set the Aux Output to a Bus and create a mono stereo track with that Bus as it's Input and it's Output to the monitors, you can hear audio but the meters aren't moving and you can't record any audio to the audio track. I also tried setting up a Mono Audio Track with Input Roland and Output to the monitors, and you can hear sound but no audio can be recorded recorded to the track and the meter isn't moving.
