It starts to appear in european online stores. They want €900 for it, don't know how that translates to dollars (taxes, shipping, distribution whatever is being added). Supposedly available in June.

And the dollar is worth less than the Euro...correct?

That's a no go for me. Lower-end converter chips, 2 less preamps.

I spoke to RME at frankfurt and they told me the 400 sounded better than the 800....

According to RME the converters are the same ones that are in the Multiface II (not the FF 800)

Of course, that is not a BAD thing..but it is something I am personally not willing to accept when the 800 gives me more features that I would potentially use anyway..

For the mobile guy who needs a portable bus-powered inferface the 400 makes more sense of course!

Pc with 6 pin

just for the pc guys. since about a year I use a samsung x20 notebook with a ff800, wich for some reason has a 6pin connection, it's light weigth and did a pretty good job with audio so far.
makes me think about getting an ff400.
