How do I convert wavefile data to midi?

Hi

I'm using Cubase SX, and I was wondering if it had a function to convert wavefile dat to a midi performance?

If not, has anyone had good results using another external convertor? There are a few out there, and I don't want to shell out dollars on the wrong one.

I need it for converting monophonic wavefiles - a bassline for example, into midi data.

ps I can't use a lot of the trial versions, as they use the PC's onboard midi to playback, and I don't have onboard midi. And they don't let you save the demo midi file to load into Cubase.

i'm sure cubase must have that feature in it.
just look in your manual. most sequencers do these days.
if your stuck the product in my sig will do it together with
a boatload of other midi/audio features.
but be aware, wav to midi ive found no matter the product ive tried,
youll prolly have to fix up in the midi editor. particularly if there are a ton of notes per bar.
