Thread Starter | NI Komplete Audio 6 weak phantom?
Hi. I'm planning to get a Macbook Air soon and am therefore looking for an inexpensive, bus-powered USB audio interface (with the hopes that a nice MOTU or Apogee thunderbolt interface comes out in the near future). I've narrowed my choices down to a MOTU Microbook and NI Komplete Audio 6. I was leaning towards the Komplete due to the 4 ins/4 outs, which would be perfect for me. But I'm hearing reports that the phantom power on the Komplete is weak and sometimes doesn't work with 2 condensers plugged in. What's the deal? Can anyone confirm this? Is this maybe just a problem with some laptops? I've heard in the past that Apple tends to over spec the power on their ports, so maybe this wouldn't be an issue with the Air? Thanks for your input. |
