Thread Starter | Interface Advice Needed
I am looking to get a new audio interface, and in searching around on forums, several posts caution buying an audio interface with firewire connection, unless you have a TI chipset. I will be running Windows 7 64 bit, i7 960 processor, with intel x58 chipset and Cubase 6. I am wondering if anyone that has experience with a similar setup could comment if they have had issues with firewire. Further, if you had suggestions about a specific audio interface with good drivers for my setup, that would be helpful. For the time being I will mainly be recording electric/bass guitars, vocals, and looking to get a drum machine. It is just myself, so don't necessarily need a lot of i/o, however having the ability to expand is desirable Any advice is helpful! Thanks |

| I Wouldn't worry
If your interface claims to work with cubase, and your system meets the minimum requirements, you will be ok. If for some reason It wont work..Return It! Most retailers offer at least 30 days (if not more) satisfaction guaranteed. If your interface drivers, system, and D.A.W. are all up to date I don't understand why you would have a problem. Heck, if a few things are out of date you might still not have a problem. If you are worried, its always best to buy from an authorized "reputable" dealer. BTW: instead of a hardware drum machine, you might wanna look into something like EzDrummer (or other). VSTi's have come a long way.. Take advantage of the technology. happy recording!!! |

I have a gigabyte mobo with x58 and it has TI firewire. It was a very recent custom build. Firewire TI chipsets and all that krazy stuff There's a link to another current thread that answers your same question.
