Recording Delay Logic Pro

Has anyone heard of a delay while recording only if you take the plugins off?

I first noticed the delay while I was recording a vocalist, so to cut back on CP I turned off the plugin and noticed no change, but when I turend the plugin back on (soundtoys-echoboy) the delay was gone. I have the send at 100% but the echoboy is bypassed..

How can this create a delay?
