underwater plug-in?

I'm looking for a plug-in that creates the effect of being recorded underwater (in this case, a human voice). The goal is not so much realism (because I don't think you could actually comprehend a human voice underwater) but the impression of realism while maintaining intelligibility... Any ideas?

Ring mod or a crazy flange might do the trick.

Sorry didn't see you said realistic.
I'd still start with ring mod and eq and see what you can come up with.

Just fill up a bucket with water and have the vocalist put his head in it. Then stick a U47 in the water and have him sing the song!

Seriously, tho, I think a big step would be to get some good background sound going on. Being underwater lends to some bass rumbling going on...maybe find a sample from an underwater microphone of just being underwater.

That should get you 80% of the way there. After that, just muffle the vocals with EQ and you should be close. A little reverb, perhaps?

Native Instruments' Spectral Delay does that sort of warping very well.
