Thread Starter | Problems with Logic and DM2000V2
The Yamaha DM2000 V2 (note the version 2) console was set up according to the “Protools setup guidelines”, with the DAW port assigned to USB 1-4. I have made sure to update the console and computer with the latest firmware and drivers, as well as Yamaha’s Studio manager. The remote layer target of the console was set to “Protools”. Note that the control surface works perfectly with these settings in Protools. However, upon launching Logic, the program does not immediately recognize the console as a control surface. Logic reports that a constant influx of midi is being received, while the console reports “the DM2000 has gone offline and is awaiting midi input”. After manually installing three instances of “DM2000 Channel Strips Only” to Logic’s control surface setup interface, I found that the only configuration that would work was when I set one of the channel strips output/input to port 3. None of the other seven ports had the same function as port 3. This would only allow me to use eight of the 24 fader channels, because no other port accurately controlled the correct fader channel in Logic. For instance, 16 of the 24 fader channels either had no function, or would trigger a solo on various tracks in Logic (while they should have functioned as volume faders). Furthermore, the DM2000 still reports that it’s not receiving any midi input even though eight fader channels are obviously receiving midi machine control (which is also very choppy). Is there a compatibility issue with Logic and the V2? Thanks for the help |

Most people set up their controllers to emulate the Mackie protocal, in Logic. I was under the impression that Avid had their own protocal for controllers. Just a hunch, don't have any experience with the Yamaha hardware.
