| Audio file erased from Protools session, any chance to recover ? My fault , my fault !!!! I erased a file from within a PT session by accident. Region bin / select unused/ Clear/ DELETE instead of remove I tried with Data Recovery without luck. Any chance I can recover this file with a proven method ?

| I'm new here, so maybe its a little premature of me to post. But as always, I shall throw caution to the wind and chime in. Your problem is not unique to music. The big question you need to ask yourself is how valuable is the material you wish to recover?? First off, don't use the hard drive for anything else if you hope to recover anything. There are companies that can take a hard drive ( even one that has crashed ) and recover data. The question becomes how much data can be recovered. This is and will most likey be unknown. You may win (get all the data you needed back) or you may lose (nada, recording gone). Its important to realize that just because you delete a file, the data still exists on the hard drive UNTIL it is over written by subsequent (read write a new ANYFILE) to the hard drive. The prices for data recovery can be steep. But if you have your swan song down this just might be an option. You can GOOGLE for data recovery to find places where this can be done. Hope this helps Denny |

| what I learned from the past is that I could always recover data that was put in the trash manually, no matter how it got in there. But it seems to be completely different with data trashed from within a program, say Protools.

| PC or Mac? if it's a mac I've not been lucky there, but if you're on a PC you can go to DOS and are able to recover it if you remember the file name and location of the file
