Digi 002 Word Clock Questions

My fellow slutz,

I have a question about syncing the word clocks of a Digi 002, a tango 24, and a Apogee 200...only using the three devices. I currently have an 002 and the tango 24, both with BLA mods. They are connected and synced via the optical adat connection. This works well and sounds good, but I was considering picking up an used apogee 200 for several reasons: 1. to convert mixes summed on my board 2. to use as my main tracking converters 3. to max out the 002s 18 IO. My question is if I used the Apogee as the master clock, connected the 002 via SPDF (for clocking and track input into the 002), connected the Tango 24 optical output to the 002 (for track inputs), and connected the apogee word clock output via the BNC coaxial cable to the word clock input to the tango 24, should all the clocks be in sync? This sounds right to me, just wanted to make sure and run it by ya'all.

thanks,

Andy

Could be wrong, but don't believe there's an option for work clock on the 002.

yup!

that would work.
There's ongoing debate as to whether W/C over SPDIF or ADAT is more "stable" or "accurate" but as far as I'm concerned ADAT is just SPDIF x4.

So if you're using ProTools, you can choose which of those two sources' clocks to follow...but since the Apogee is running on it's internal clock, and the Tango is getting the Apogee's clock via BNC (this is the clock source I'd be leaning towards in PT), for all intents and purposes, the oo2 is seeing the same clock from 2 different places, so it's moot.

you guys should search...this has been covered a billion times.

no word clock on 002, 003 introduced this.

The OP's method of connecting things should work fine.
