Audiophile USB vs. Fast Track Pro (M-Audio)

Audiophile USB:

Fast Track Pro:
http://www.m-audio.ca/products/en_ca...kPro-main.html

My limited knowledge tells me the Fast Track Pro is the better choice, but why does the Audiophile cost a bit more? I am confused and trying to decide which one to get... or do you have any recommendations for something else in that price range?

I am looking for something that will give me MIDI connectivity on either a desktop or a laptop (depending on the situation,) and I need the audio to be low latency for recording and VSTi response.

dont qoute me bcos its hazy but i seem to remember somewhere reading the fast track can only record mono. you might want to check that aspect if true on the fast track. if you want a complete list of usb devices look at music123.com
zzounds.com and sweetwater. you might also look at terratec. i keep on hearing they are rather nice...as always ensure you can return any device if it doesnt play well with your desktop or laptop.

That would be odd if it didn't record stereo... maybe you read/heard about the regular Fast Track USB. It's a cheaper box. I'm looking at the Fast Track Pro, which I think is newer.

Also, looks like this unit might also be a possibility. The Edirol UA-25:

So many choices, and not enough know how to make a good decision :\

That Terratec seems nice, but it doesn't have XLR inputs. As for the phase 24, I don't have Firewire :(

But thanks for the recommendation!
