They eventually will and already released a few new plugins. How much of their current plugs will go native is not something anyone can now predict.

Poco still works very well with drivers getting updated, just no new plugins.

lol - If Powercore was dead then so is all the vintage gear out there that rocks. Just because a manufacturer does not make something does not make it dead. The new operating systems have not offered any reason to change computers for me so I plan on staying with Snow Lion for a long time. I guess someday the Powercore will not work with new computers but that day has not come yet. Maybe in ten years it will not work on new computers? Hard to say when but I see using it for at least 5 to 10 years. By then maybe the plugs will be better than Powercore but as of today the new plugs are not better, just different and many are inferior.

I cannot imagine mixing and mastering without the Powercore plugins.

The TC Brickwall limiter has no rivals IMHO. If you want completely transparent
GR of about 2-3dB nothing comes close to the TC Brickwall for leaving the transients in tact especially the Kick and low end stuff, still and always will be an essential and amazing bit of software.

Other TC essentials for mixing are,

Dynamic EQ - brilliant for mixing vocals and taming synths
All the TC reverbs esp the NonLin2
The VSS3 is my go to for piano reverb.
CL1B (sounds better on the PoCo than the native version .... it really does)

MD3 EQ is up there with RED and BLUE EQ for Mastering.

I also love the Virus, amazing synth although that's an add on 3rd party plugin.

TC Powercore is still essential to my mixes and productions.

tht
There's no reason you have to stay on 32 bit to run Powercore. At this point, their drivers for 64 bit are better than their 32 bit drivers ever were. Running Win7 x64 for several years now, with a PCI MkII and an Unplugged PCI. The Powercore drivers on 32 bit machines were never as stable as they are now on 64 bit machines. Who would've thought that after TC announced no more plug-in development for the Powercore platform, their driver support for Powercore would then become the best it's ever been.

Er wrong.

I use Windows 7 64 bit OS

Powercore is 64bit drivers.

The plugins themselves are STILL 32bit NOT 64bit .... and they never will be.

So if you use Cubase 64bit you will need to use a bit bridge.

Good Idea having a reliable closed system!

It how everyone used to work,I don't know why people stop practicing this?

But gearslutz like the new shiny toys I guess.it took me 8 months to go to cubase 6.5,I came from 5.5 so I guess it really took me almost to years to leave cubase 5.

It has great new features, but my music still sound like crap(joke),but it does sound the same.

There are way to many upgrades these days...

i got the bug again....

im so tempted to get the Poco but id like to buy a firewire unit tha already has the MD3+VSS3+virus multi. those are the only 3 plugins that really interests me. the rest is goodies for me.
yet, i dont want to pay more than $400 for a dying tech. the prices on ebay are crazy. those are from companies and not individuals. the criaglists go for very cheap since its a risk of apple updating to cat something and no more poco.

so the plugins are 32 bit in logic right?

they dont appear as 64 bit so i have to use the logic bit bridge?

im trying to get better mixes but also better home mastering plugs.

Powercore is legit, but not a lot of DSP, but if you are using it for your reverbs, effects and/or mastering, it's crazy cool... but don't expect to mix a whole album off of one Firewire... I have two express cards and a mini and I have to watch my dsp usage since I do heavy lifting with my PoCo's Sonnox bundle and all the other TC plugins. I really like their dynamic eq, noise reduction tool, chorus delay, classic verb and megareverb.... Still, the plugins are great and their system6000 algo's are amazing.

IMHO it perfectly compliments the UAD plugins.
I have a few Waves plugins, but to be honest I never use them anymore.

UAD do fantastic vintage vibe stuff especially their reverbs and delays.
Powercore offers excellent "digital tools"

Together they make for some really fantastic mixes.

I always wondered why Ford discontinued the Capri, I loved that car .... sometimes it makes no sense to me why manufactures seem to drop a star product, I suspect with Powercore the hassle in the support dept. out weighted the profit it made.

The same happened to SSL with Duende BUT they decided to go native .... I hope TC do the same thing and offer free licences to those who already have Poco licenses, it's hard to believe TC will let algo's as brilliant as MD3 and VSS3 simply fade away - or maybe they'll appear on the UAD card .... as ever, only they know and we guess!

best

I think, it's much better.

To me it's the modern version of the UAD line-up.
