Thread Starter | TC EQ SAT 3.6 for Junior Mastering?
Hi folks! Sure we can not compare nice $$$$ hardware boxes ( Crane, Manley, Weiss, Manley) to junior mastering plugs but... I wasn´t aware that TC EQ SAT was developed with junior mastering on mind. I have been using Q10 /VW as the eq choice for my junior squeezing, along with MASTER X ( also from TC works). So.. is it a big deal? The warm/sat function shall help achieve nice or better resuts than the ordinary Waves Q series? Thanks

ordinary waves Q sounds bad to me (esp at highs), I like linEQ for highs though. TC EQSat is nothing special to me. Try Voxego Curve EQ (VST) or UAD Cambridge or Sony OxfordEQ... depending what are u using.

then I'd go with Oxford or Cambridge TDM or Waves Linear. These I know from PC-VST world. However PT has other possibilities like Massemburg EQ etc. I can't comment... TC EQsat wasn't my favorite at PowerCore.

I see. In fact not many guys reported me as it being their daily eq choices.

Having used the Oxford and the EQ-sat (although on Powercore under Logic, but still) for quite a while, there is no doubt in my mind that the Oxford sounds quite a lot more like what I want to hear. Particularly the transients are treated in a much nicer way imho.

If I had waves ren series I wouldn't bother with EQ sat. Same boat (class) IMO, different color... however EQSat has awful interface (not graphicaly)... it is very user unfriendly, look at a screenshot somewhere and you'll find you have many problems workin with it. Gains and freqs. controls are at absolute different places. If you want to change a frequency and gain a bit, you'll have to count the counters to get idea what to move. Maybe someone can get used, but I was pretty pissed off. EQSat is said to be the equalizer taken from Finalizer... try to find opinions on that too, should be close. my 0.60 czech crowns = $0.02 ;-) |

finalizer eq has a fame of being too metalic!! and what about filterbank E6/P6 compared to Q6? If I had Sony/ GM or Master Bundle I would not be here asking about the older ones... Thanks |
