so i've started installing cubase on my new macbook pro 2.0ghz...

and it ain't workin' too well. also updated the syncrosoft drivers-- still an error.

and it doesn't see my MH2882. and while metrichalo's mixer app would open, it hung while i was trying to update the firmware.

so, in short-- definitely NOT painless.

anyone else making the migration? let's brainstorm and check each others errors.

could it be that the probook has to "translate" the cubase software on the fly via rosetta???

anyway when i had sx 2 it ran like shit on my powerbook...

AFAIK, Cubase is not yet a Universal Binary. So that means it's trying to run under Rosetta.

Sorry to tell you this, but I don't think it's gonna be useable until Steinberg releases in Universal Binary so that it runs natively on your Macintel.

The MH should work fine though. It is supposed to be great under Rossetta. I am very curious about this. Please post any result you get.

Steinberg devs stated at NAMM it will be not Intel compadible until the next major update/upgrade. This means a new version of SX3 or SX4.

yeah, but had read over @ cubase.net that people had had it working. mine won't even open... then again it is sx1 so maybe it's snowballs chance in hell.

also might be the right time to just move over to logic, anyway.

the MH thing is frustrating; off to give them a call.

Actually SX1 I dont think installs on Tiger at all. It probably has nothing to do with the new processor. You need to upgrade to SX3 for Tiger support. You often can't upgrade one thing without upgrading others. That is just how software works.
