not ranting they didn't release it at an iphone event - read the post buddy. Maybe i wasn't clear; post is venting over apple's 'passion for music in their DNA' knowing the neglect/communication they have with the pro audio users.

I would suspect ML too, unless it uses features that aren't in ML (which would eliminate Lion & 10.6.8 for sure).

The mistake they made with FCP X they rectified with a couple of updates. Just because things are taking their time does not equal abandonment.
To be attract the good programmers it's good that Apple are making money on consumer product. Or would you rather that Apple was near bankrupcy like it was before Jobs came back? Should we all invest in studio setups with computers from a company that we didn't know excist a year later?

Please do if you can't handle that some think the "evil consumer product apple" arguments are growing old.

In fact i just recently started reading up on other DAWs and been running few trial versions; Discovering some amazing stuff... has Apple been sleeping on the job, no wait, they were making iPhones!

They have proven that for sure, but, primarly as a consumer and creating music also from the perspective of the masses, iTunes, Garageband etc. is just great for that. That very small pro market is a niche market. Maybe a new Logic version in October, maybe next year, we'll see. But, it seems to me that that upcoming release will tell it all what direccion Apple is thinking of. Might be great and at the same time pi** a lot of people off...

As a logic veteran I can only say "Fück you Apple for leaving all Logic users in the dark!!"
This just isn't funny or exciting anymore, just frustrating!!

I've got the feeling that Apple will drop the pro market sooner or later. I think it's the only pro software they have right now. Every other pro software is developed by independent companies.

Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro are usually towards the top of Apple's list (in the App Store) of "Top Grossing" (umsatzstärkste) apps.

Hm,
I'm a longtime logic user (since version 1.5 on atari) and the latest version is good enough for me.
I have tried some other sequencers over the time, but logic is still my favorite one.
Also mountain lion still is running well here.
I had every os x version since 10.0 with every single update except lion.
As far as everything works, i don't care about updates.
Even when they kick the support for my mac pro in the future, i can go on with windows on the same machine.
I really don't understand the emotions about a piece of soft or hardware, there are so much other products on the marked anybody can use.

I've given up on Logic X for the time being and am using Reason 6.5 which is suitable for all my needs.

Just saying | I'll upgrade for sure, but meantime I just ordered DP8 which looks amazing for what I do. So I'll have PT, Logic and DP8. Should be able to get something done. |

I've final crossed the threshold from, "PT10 is hard to use because I've used logic for 6 years" to, "PT10 editing is so versatile, why didn't I learn PT sooner"?
I miss Logic like an old friend but sometime we just need to move on.............

[QUOTE=skira;7986835]Which developers are saying it's obvious?
The debacle of this one particular app was their own doing, and their own fault for introducing a pro product missing features from the previous, incompatible version, removing the previous version from sale, and failing to assure users that missing features would be quickly added to the new product. Employees should have been fired, possibly including the VP in charge of Audio/Video, Max Paley, with responsibility right up to SVP Craig Federighi.
Being 'soured' on pro apps is a juvenile response akin to being soured on dating after being spurned by a girl when you approached her with garlic breath and a hickey on your neck. (As Elvis C. said, "Good manners and bad breath get you nowhere.")
Great post. While I'd like an update to the look of Logic, it is after all something I have to look at every day and we all like shiny stuff, the change that is so enormously required is the utilization of all cores in tracking. It's an extremely sore point. I understand it probably requires a ground up endeavour, and I'm assuming that's what they're doing. As well as fixing whatever it is that occasionally tells my hugely powerful computer it can't play twenty tracks of audio without blowing it's mind. That doesn't hurt mid solo at all. Oh and lay off "singer songwriters", we're the reason you half you bastards have jobs. Or pretend you do.

| Bloodychoir, that quote was *not* about Logic Pro, right?
But what's this about : "That doesn't hurt mid solo at all. Oh and lay off "singer songwriters", we're the reason you half you bastards have jobs. Or pretend you do."?

It's probably true to say that all of the DAW's available today have the same basic features... Some have more of 'this' whilst some others have more of the 'that' but despite the differences they are all trying to do the same thing and that is to create an environment for us to produce music with in an efficient and inspiring way. The arguments for or against a particular DAW are mostly down to personal preference and taste. I think Cubase is every bit as good as Logic (and has some features I would love to see in Logic) but it's just not my cup of tea visually and the workflow doesn't work for me. But I would assume that all of us (when push comes to shove) could knock up a reasonable track on any DAW if we had to. So as far as I'm concerned all the arguments about DAW's are pretty moot. I just hope that when Apple and the Logic team finally release Logic X that Melodyne is implemented into the program like Presonus have done with Studio1. Apart from that Logic's still working fine and is still getting me where I want to go.
Oh! And maybe sort out the 32bit bridge thing and NOT just dump it like folks are intimating.
