How can I use my external drive with this M-Powered setup?

I have an external firewire drive to take sessions home from my PTHD studio and do some editing/minor mixing/overdubs. The home system is M-powered with a firewire solo.

The drive is formatted to HFS+ and it looks like the only way I can get XP to use it is with Macdrive 6 - and only as a transfer drive.

Is there another way I can use my external drive and have cross-platform compatibility that allows for recording to the drive on the M-powered system? If not, I may just dump this little rig.
