How Do You Monitor Mix Mode on MX-2424?

Folks,

I can't seem to figure out how to monitor Mix Mode on a Tascam MX-2424 in real time. Ideally, I'd like to monitor the SPDIF out of the unit. If that doesn't fly, analog converted output. When I returned the channels I had armed for mix mode to my console, I could only hear what was recorded on those tracks, not the mix. Thanks for your help.
