Basic recording PC

Hi,
I'm bulding simple daw for my friend. It's just for home recording, no mixing. Is Epox 8NPA7I -witch nForce4 ok for audio? And is Sound Blaster Audigy 4 ok? I know that blasters are crap, but he doesn't need high quality for recording his guitar ideas. I'd just like to know if SB audigi 4 asio drivers work ok with cubase sx.

many thanks
Lukas

Luk...
for inexpensive i would recommend you look at the esi julie sound card.
and read some of the reviews on it by googling.
then test one out in the system your building.
you might also want to demo what i use in my sig for multitrack software.
you might be very surprised. comes with a suite of effects plug ins thus saving money your friend could put towards other things like a nice mic or preamp.
