I need an ATI X800 installer, help please

I lost my ATI X800 installation CD,

I'm on a Mac.
The only thing you can download there are updates, etc.

It's not an update, it's a complete new version of the driver. I saw what you mean where it says update. Did you try it?

select your OS

Yes I tried.
It's an 10.3.6 update.

Do a simple test;
Do a search with Spotlight or the Finder for ATI.
My search gave nothing , except for the "ATI Displays" control panel
My ATI card fan is running at full speed although I have two simple 17 inch monitors connected, and no 3D or games or whatever.

I'm sorry, but I'm on a PC. I didn't install the fan/temperature-monitoring software-- only the drivers and the control panel, but I think that is only for monitoring. I dont think it actually changes the speed of the fan. Don't the fans always run at the same speed no matter what is happening? I've never owned any computer device where the fan speed would change.

The whole "update" thing really doesn't seem right. Whenever new Catalyst drivers come out, they are a fresh install that require you to remove the old drivers (on PC anyway). Seems very strange that it will not let you install the files from their site. One more question: Did you uninstall your current Catalyst drivers before attempting to run the file on their site?

Installing the new drivers found on the ATI site brings no help.
I downloaded the ROM update as well but when trying to install, there is a popup menu that says.
" No compatible ATI hardware found".
Latest Rom version is 1.09, I have 1.08.

the update should be the same driver except with updates already built into it so it's not an update in the sense that it requires the older driver version to install but actually is the older driver with the added updates for ye pixel shaders or whathaveyou.

try it and see if it works.
