Thread Starter | create track in logic... wierd glitch?? what am i doing wrong?
when i go to track > create in Logic pro it does this wierd thing where it just creates a mirror image so to speak of whatever track is selected when i do it. then every change i make to the new track applies to that old one and vice versa. sounds like there is something obvious that im doing wrong here. how do i just create a whole new track? god what a novice question |

Or you can create multiple, which will create new environment objects also. Best advice is to set up a blank mixer with everything you like in it and save it as a template. I have 4 templates. 1) DAE only for protools style multi tracking Has 64 DAE tracks and busses in the arrange page. 2) DAE and DTDM audio and midi Has 24 DAE channels, 24 Audio Instruments and 16 DTDM Audio channels I use it for electronic music. 3) DTDM only Has 24 DTDM audio tracks and 24 audio instruments. 4) Blank template Has only 2 DAE tracks in the arrange- I use this when I want to build a new autoload from scratch. I put all this in to give you an idea how flexible and easily customised Logic can be. I am not in front of logic right now, so there may be a way to do what you want, but I am tired and can't remember.

What you want is to Create Track with Next Channel/Instrument. The easiest way to do this is by using or assigning a key command to the function. Otherwise you could simply hold down option key (alt) and double click on an empty space below the track names. This will create the following channel, depending on which track you have currently selected.
