Mbox- less latency with a Mac?

For somereason when I run Pro-tools 7 and Guitar Rig there is less latency on my Mac 1.67 Ghz G4 than on my roomates HP PC 2.0 Ghz.

Is there some reason there is less latency on the Mac?

look in hardware settings for the diskbuffersize and see if it differs...
