Different programs, different soundcards, same computer

Anyone else do this???

I was running Nuendo 2 with an RME 9652-Apogee DA-16 convertors-through my console.
Then running the 2-mix of the console back into a Lucid 9624-M audio Delta-Soundforge.
different sample rates-different sound cards-same compute running windows XP.

Worked great. I love and am used to mixing into Soundforge and keeping the Nuendo files and mixes seperate.

Then I added another RME 9652 card for more tracks and now both programs lock up.

Do I need a new, more powerful computer?? or is a 2-computer setup the way to go.
