AFAIK this function is not availble in PT.

Which yet again makes me wonder when PT is going to get smart and incorporate just a few of the features from programs such as Logic pro.

How about buying a D control , plenty of solo buttons on there ... (some other ones too fwiw)

ok ok ... D command has 'em too ...

Oh well ... C24 as well ... and even a Command 8 has a LOAD of possibilities to increase your workflow and it's dead cheap for what it does. Seriously .... any controller is better then no controller at all really.

Just remove the word "hating" and you get "Pro Tools is old!", which would be more correct.

One thing that I found by accident (that is actually very helpful in the right situation) is if you hit ctrl, or maybe option/alt ( can't remember which one offhand) and then click on the solo button. It will sort of turn a light grey, and afterwards, will always be solo'd out when you hit any solo button on another channel. So say you always want to listen to the kick drum, click ctrl + solo; then when you solo out the bass, you'll hear both.

how many years you got on PT man - in serious pressure sessions...?? How well do you understand the architecture?? How well do you understand why some things are as there are in that software... Maybe think a little more before posting on stuff you clearly know nothing about!! This is important to consider when you may influence people whom certain applications may actually be ideal for....

whatever...

don't know why I bother...

hey guys.. for the record.. i love pt.. i use it atleast 8-10 hours a day.. it's how i make my living.. but i also use logic and i know that just hitting the "s" key solos whatever i select.. i was hoping pt did something very similar.. i must admit it is a little frustrating having to fiddle around with the mouse just to solo stuff.. oh well.. any other cool shortcuts would be cool...like if you open up system preferences you can create your own pro tools s'cuts like "bounce to disk..." i have set it to "alt+command+b".. it's great and just works..

It's apple. The function is called "solo safe" and is also great for aux tracks to prevent them from being shut off when soloing tracks.

Soundscape does the solo highlighted tracks nicely...thats one hell of a program
