I watched it and love it. Kenny Goya is the fastest talking guy I met in a video. you rule

I'm 2/3 through this informative tutorial and it took a few videos to get used to the staccato speech. Very good nevertheless. It may be that this clears up in the last few sessions, but I'm yet to learn how Goia's point of view is regarding panning before eq-ing? Mono compatibility is still quite important it seems.

Im watching it piece by piece, and loving it. I have had to reference the reaper wiki heaps to make a head or tail out of reaper so its comparable to the pro tools that he uses, and i really wish i could afford kennys reaper tutorial because of this, but i digress. The teaching method in this is beyond reproach. His speaking pace is often commented on, however i find it refreshing and if you are slowly trying to build your skills, it makes for better reviewing of the content as hes constantly on the ball delivering tips.

Well done kenny, i think it is the most important mixing guide i have ever come across, i havent tried them all , but i sure have tried a lot. This is the first i have found that creates a tool that caters to people who need a visual cue to learn and a engineers point of view. Should be the best seller of the year I reckon!

Kind regards
Paddy

That is the best vote of confidence for a video I've ever heard. My GOD I HATE those slow ass talkers on tutorial videos, talking about the simplest stuff at snails pace like I'm handicapped.

I don't think I've ever actually watched a full length tutorial video for that very reason.

Just got a newsletter from iZotope. They have a 25% deal off on orders from groove3.com for newsletters subscribers.

Oh yeah, and nice work on the tutorial, Kenny.
Eventually it would be also cool to see a tutorial on mixing 'home quality' projects and how to fix common problems associated with them.

Oh yeah, Kenny definitely speaks faaaast

I even thought he speeded up/time stretched his speech file so it's more "firm"

Anyway, the tutorial is worth every penny, it opens mind and shows a lot of useful things!

I found myself doing just the same moves on my current project, but it wasn't good, so the basic rule is still unchanged: listen and follow your instinct, when you don't like what you hear - change it, even if it's done by the book.

Thanks this tutorial I also discovered 112dB Redline plugs, and I really fell for the reverb. It's great and an absolute winner for the price. They even allow 60 days of unlimited trial period

Looking forward to "Mixing Pop" and "Recording A Rock Session" and "Recording A Pop Session".

I thought I knew how to mix. After watching the intro video alone, I have to think again.

Thanks for sharing.

Very cool video. This thing really helped me find some direction in mixing.

I want to find something similar but dealing with heavy guitars. I've been reading the Slipperman thread and it is pretty interesting. Still I think a video would help more.

Any recommendations?
