Unhappy Vienna Ensemble Pro + Superior 2.0 - help me get them to work?

I'm having a mare trying to get Superior 2.0 to run on Vienna Ensemble Pro - if anyone can pitch in with any tips it'd be much appreciated....

Got VEP (build 4.1.7349, 64 bit version) on my slave PC (Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, 24GB ram, i5 2.27 Xenon x 8 ) and it's loading up all my VSTs (Spectrasonics and NI Komplete libs) with no issues, so no reason to suspect it's a host or hardware problem. I've just installed Superior 2.0 including the latest 2.2.3 software patch which makes it 64 bit compatible.

First time I launched, I got the expected authorisation window - went through that procedure without a hitch. But.... the plugin GUI for Superior just refused to load any samples. It was able to 'see' the libs by name on the hard disks, but just refused to load anything. I made sure that the path back to the Superior .dll file in the VST Plugins folder was correctly linked, and that the paths between the plugin and the sample data was correct, but no go.

Toontrack support suggested installing the 32 bit driver for the software too, but all that has achieved is that VEP now cannot see Superior at all! I've tried moving the Superior .dll file around various permutations of VST folders (32 bit plugin folder, 64 bit plugin folder, Toontrack folder, etc) and re-linking it, but still no use. Toontrack state that they're a bit limited in the support they can offer as VEP is an unsupported environment (!) and they have done no testing with it, so I'm at a loss as to what to do next.

Any advice gratefully received!
