Steven,
Will there be a new upgrade path for users of 3 who have all the exp packs?

Thanks

Any news regarding the EX to Platinum upgrade...? Would be nice to know if it´s gonna take more time to implement.

There currently IS a way to upgrade from 3 to 4 with all the expansion packs, check out the upgrade page (under products/upgrade)

We have a new web guy and his first task is to get that EX to Plat upgrade up immediately.

Don't know if this has been asked already but i've upgraded from 3.5ex to 4.0ex and i'm missing the 4.0 default midi mapping info which was included in the last page of the previous version manual. I'm not a drummer myself and kind of noob with this stuff alltogether and at least for me the manual was useful

Other than that everything works and sounds great so far!

Does anyone have an info on when all the samples from SSD4 will be available to use with Trigger?

bought it

couple of points:

Im finding the instrument edit ASR envelopes to be pretty poorly set up - the scale is out and timings far too long generally...when you get down to small enough times to make a difference to the drum hit - the scale is practically at its furthest point - there is barely room to work in...

Memory - is it just me - or when you load new kits does it keep some of the previous in memory? Seems like you have to 'clear kit' first before going and choosing another kit...?

The kits seem very well recorded. My only issue at the moment is that I cant find kits recorded in tight rooms. Any suggestions of kits / pieces? The 'tight' kits arent really 'that' tight...

Its nice that the sampler is not full of plasticy sounding plugin processing - however I have to admit - some basic eq/filtering would be handy just for the rough mix and jamming.

I just wanted to relay the following to all of you and Steven...

I downloaded 1.092 tonight. (I was going to wait for a final non beta release but I got anxious) After YEARS of waiting to be able to use Steven Slate Drums the way I've wanted to, 1.092 works and worked flawlessly for me.

I was able to load up a kit, make it multi channel, change kits and have the mapping stay correctly. I was able to load a custom midi map and feed SSD4 Superior 2 midi directly from EZPlayer. I worked probably 3 hours tonight mixing kits and pushing SSD4 to its limits and it performed flawlessly for me running Cubase 6.0 32 bit, Win 7 64 bit, Intel Xeon dual quad core X5460 3.16GHz with 12.0 GB of ram. I did not notice any ram savings from the original version but I am probably missing something since I didn't go hunting for any new ram control.

After years of struggling, I'm finally happy. Thanks Steven! Now to begin making music again! Still anxiously looking forward to those SSD4 mixing videos Steven.

Are there any plans to release a demo for SSD 4 in the near future? I'm wary of purchasing this without testing it first on my system (Cubase 6.5 32 bit on Win7 64 bit 8gb RAM).

Alternately - can someone post a pdf link to the Operation Manual for SSD 4 Platinum? Can't seem to find it on the Steven Slate Web site, although I seem to recall v3.5 was there at one point.

Thanks...!

Hi

I know these questions have been asked here and elsewhere, but I have not seen any answers, so could anyone with a few minutes to spare please let me know? Even screenshots would be OK if you don't fancy typing.

1) What kits are supplied in the SSD4 EX version?
2) What individual drums are in there?
3) And is there somewhere I can audition them individually?

I seem to recall that the old SSD website had all sorts of previews for the 3.5 kits, but now I am in the market to try SSD I really need to hear what I would be getting as I cannot afford to go for platinum right away...

Thanks,
Fleabag

Just get EX[then upgrade, thats what I'll be doing],it's great,I recently bought BFD2,and even SSD4"EX" blows it away, just on cymbal sounds and ease of use alone, and if you have 3.5,you get a discount.

Hi! This thing sounds great! BUT! I have a problem and the Slate website is down right now.
I have printed all the individual tracks as wav files, wich worked out good in PT 10.1.3
Then I have used TRIGGER for some extra samples with the same midi file, but in a diffrent midi track.
And..... It is not tight!!!! Thats not what I expected when bouncing from midi tracks!
at least 50% of the samples are not tight and it looks like trigger is "in time" with midi notes, but SSD4 is off!!!
Thats weird!
I´m using PT 10HD (10.1.3) and SSD 1.092 RTAS-32bit

Any solutions?

Thanks
Achim

This doesn't seem to work with the 32 bit bridge in Logic, anyone else notice this?

On pc, when you open the library folder I have 9 unrared files + license, mapping, etc. Am i correct in having those 9 unrared folders in there?
I dont have any drums loading up.

Hi Chris,

Your unpacked "SSD4Library" folder should consist of these folders (and your license file once copied inside said folder): -

DrumKitPresets
DrumLibraryData
Grooves
IOMaps

Place SSD4Library folder on a hard drive used solely for streaming samples (for best performance).

After installing the plug-in (VST, RTAS), open/instantiate the SSDSampler in your host DAW, go to "Settings" (button on the left side of plugin interface), press the "Select Base Dir" button and select the "SSD4Library" folder to set path to SSD 4 library. Then, press the "Select License File" button and select "ssd_SSD 4_{********-****-****-****-************}.slc" file to set path to your license.

You'll then be good to go.

I used 7-zip. Ended up with 9 unrared folders :(

Do I need to create the folder "SSD4Library"? There wasn't one after I uncompressed those files.

Open one of the Rar files in 7Zip (doesn't matter which one but the first one is the obvious choice) click the extract button. Tell 7zip where to save the output click ok.
If that doesn't work are you getting an error in the 7zip log window?

Ok I'm downloading all the .rar files again.

Where should I save the output file to.

I'm sorry for these basic questions. I don't know why it's easier for me to build preamps and 1176 compressors than to install software...

Thanks for your patience.
