Exclamation Syncing an SP404 to a laptop for live performance

Hey guys,

Im wanting to know if it's possible to sync my SP404 to my laptop so that i can send a click out of my laptops Audio Interface while the 404 plays the backing track.

I was thinking that perhaps i could set up a session where the 404 is triggered from a software instrument channel that plays whatever midi note corresponds to a particular track. I'd have to arrange the songs through the session so that i could skip to the start of the different tracks using markers and have different tempo changes. Not sure if this makes sense or not...

Anyone know an easier way?

Im using Logic to play synths and use Guitar Rig but am happy to use Mainstage 2 if it is better suited for syncing.

Thanks everyone!

if it's got Midiclock sync and the base tempo of a sample can be set in the SP and then those time stretch when different Clock tempos are set, you might have a chance.

ultimately it's better if the sample is spot on in pitch and tempo to the original song you intend to play it with.

I don't like time many stretch algorithms very much.

the easiest way would be to work on the tempo map in Logic and tune it to the sample playing in the SP. rather than the other way round.

btw.. can you re-save a lot of samples assigned to the pads in these things to a new folder on the SD cards ? e.g. use it as a sample reorganizer to the SD card. also, do you know if it can take samples at lower than 44.1K sample rate, without converting them ?
