i somehow missed that thread...Ok, i give it a try, just bought Nebula 3 Pro, and i would like to get now the essential other stuff thats great. Doin Synthpop, what im interested in:
Tape
EQ
Comp
Analog Console
anything else must have? Which ones are the preferred ones? To be honest, im to lazy to check all those demos and samples...
U might know whats good, why not ask. Found some threads over Nebula Libraries, but it ended most time in IMO talking. I know, its a individual thing, even also kinda music thing, but someone might now whats good for me
AlexB stuff is top notch. Especially the Neve & API emulations. He's got Consoles and EQs.
You will find tape emulations on cdsoundmaster's website.
Anotherone I haven't tried so far is analoginthebox with EQ, Comp, console emulations.
I was just wondering whether there are some great amp simulation for Nebula ?
thanks for your answer. I just bought it today, cant say anything about it yet. Im trying to get my collection together and then buy everything. If i see something, or read smtg ill get back to u.
@ mod: sry for my inconvenience and thanks for putting it @ the right place
The thing with 3rd party programs is that they have to be done very well.
And the ones mentioned above used good converters, cable and proper gain staging.
A couple of weeks ago I browsed the posts on Nebula to find what piece of gear each library sampled and find which ones seemed to be most recommended. I took all this info and consolidated it in a single text file... I paste it below since you'll probably find it useful.
Vintage GMC (Neumann style for mastering) – Alex B – 40€
MBC (API 1608) – Alex B – 40€
Neve 5088 – Alex B
CLC Pro (SSL 4000 E) – Alex B 40€
Tape
R2R + TapeBooster – CDSoundmaster – 128$. it's got everything from high end modern Studers & Otaris loaded with Ampex & ATR tape, all the way through to weird and wonderful 50's tape recorders like Wolensak etc
Compressor (please note from what I have heard Nebula compressors are still not exceptional)
Draw-Her (Drawmer 1968 ME) – Trascending Music – 18€
Distorsion
Vcult (Thermionic Vulture Culture) - Transcending Music – 20€

Is it worth to buy Nebula 3 Pro if I already have UAD-2 quad Omni, Liquid Mix and Waves Mercury Bundle?
Depends what you are looking for.
I personally sold my Liquid Mix, rarely use my UAD-2 and from waves I only use CLA comp and LinMB. With Nebula I use AlexB stuff on every mix.
I prefer Nebula EQs way over UAD EQs...I sold my UAD card...however - Nebula compression still has a way to go and cant replace UAD there...or with delays...they are both good...
yeah I got 'em - couldnt resist...and I have a 1968 to compare...but havent got around to it yet...
Fate comp is excellent - not so versatile - but pretty realistic sounding good for bass - but the attack is a little fast for my tastes on other uses...I tried the Rhythminmind Drawmer 1968 program...Jury is still out on that one...
That Fate comp sounds fantastic on demo video, but it's too "unversatile".
Please, review that 1968/Draw Her if you have the real thing to compare!

Has anyone used the analog in the box tube console? I don't hear much talk about it, is it good, or are Alex B's programs pretty much the no brainers as far as console programs go?
