Do you realize that you are downloading the plugin and not an installer? You need to take the (2) files that are in the EMI folder on your desktop and drag them into your plug-in folder. Then, they will be there.

So I'm into hard choices: TC VSS3 TDM (even if you ditch the M3000, you'd like to have this plug) OR Chandler EMI?
Talk about apples and oranges..more like bananas and rootbeer.

do not unstuff it form a "read only" mediaformat like a burned and verified cd.
Copy it onto your harddrive and doubleclick the stuffit file.

Is that the case here?

Can anyone corroborate that the Abbey Road AU plugins do not work or are somehow incompatible with Garageband? I thought I'd not installed them correctly but found that they worked fine with Fidelia. I'm not sure what I did wrong or if there's anything I can do. Thanks.

so i found another thread about some other plugin having been installed but not showing up in the list of available AU effects in GarageBand. The suggested solution was to delete the cache item: library/ cache/ com.apple.audiounits.cache. I couldn't find it. Then I looked for it starting from my "user name" instead of from the "HD" in Finder. Found it. I don't know why the two starting points (HD/ "username") look identical but do not have identical data however, they definitely do. Deleting the cache allowed Garageband to scan for new AU's when I then went to open a project... it tells you new AU's are detected and that it will take a moment to recognize them... IT WORKED!!! I have an amazing new set of plugins now available to the most seamlessly integrated DAW around. If the Beatles did it with these effects and analogue tape, then what more do you REALLY need?
