Exclamation LUG / Wave Arts Group Buy

http://logic-users.org/groupbuy/wavearts
Already a 40% discount with the deadline on January 25th.

What's the reason Wave Arts plug-ins aren't discussed very much on this forum?

I will try them myself this weekend (a generous 30 day trial period) against my standard Logic plugs, but I just wanted some opinions.

Thanks,
Martijn.

I like Final Plug 5 a lot. Being able to set the Quantize bits to 8 and listen to just the dither is a great feature.

The Panning plugin is very cool as well. I've played with the Track Plug compressor a bit and liked it. Haven't fired up the reverb plug yet.

I recently DL'd the verb and used it on a mix. I'm now part of the group buy for the plugin. If I use something on a track and like it enough to release it, then I figure I should buy it.

I use the track plug a lot - just upgraded to the new version. I think they make outstanding plugs. I also like to use their Multidynamics plug for a few things. The version 4 reverb was a little weak but the new version is much better.

They not only sound great but they are also very CPU efficient.

Great company, great prpducts, I highly recommend them, the demo's are very generous - just enough time to get you hooked!

Rob, you're welcome and thanks everybody for your opinions.

I've been playing around with the Power Suite bundle and my favourite is definitely the TrackPlug; 10 band EQ, dual compressors, a gate, sidechain... and a lot of sensible presets. Presets that also come in handy as a starting point with the more complex 6 band MultiDynamics multi-band-compressor. "Vocal Control" for instance gives a different approach to compress Vocals that can work really well, almost like a Dynamic EQ.

Panorama in combination with automation can result in some wacky ear-candy I haven't seen in other plug-ins. MasterVerb & FinalPlug haven't totally convinced me yet, but maybe I have to play around with them some more.

Overall, very positive! thumbsup

Cheers,
Martijn.

bump There are still two days left to participate in the Wave Arts group buy, and they're already at half price. You can get all 5 of their plugins for $299 U.S., or bundles of 3 for $199, etc...

I thought I had missed it, but they're taking signups until the 31st.

are they that much better than the stock logic ones in your opinion?

You can compare them for yourself, as there's a fully functional 30-day demo. The only one I must have is Final Plug 5. I like it.

I haven't compared them directly to the Logic plugins, so I can't say at this moment how they stack up. The interfaces are a little cluttered on some of the Wave Arts plugins, at least to my eyes. They do sound good though.

I ended up buying TrackPlug because I love the concept of a good sounding channelstrip PlugIn, which is something you don't have in LogicPro.

Because of Logic's "standard issue" MultiPressor, Adaptive Limiter & Platinum Verb I decided not to buy the rest of the bundle. I did some quick A-B-ing, but I didn't hear any dramatic differences. I figured I could best save $200,- and maybe spent $40,- on Logic 202 Logic's Plug-Ins Unplugged by macProVideo to get the most out of the PlugIns I already have.

hey thanks,
the 3 d panner and the reverb have my attention. I'm going to check those tomorrow.
the rest looks nice, but not really necessary. The logic adaptive limiter is nice, for software, but I love my NTP limiters. so no need.
