Tab to Transient in Logic Pro or Cubase SX?

I'm a PTLE user, but am thinking of switching to Cubase or Logic. I've pretty much found all the functionality I want in both programs (and more) but I am curious about the Tab to Transient function in PT. Is something similar available in either Logic or Cubase?

(For those not familiar with PT; the Tab to Transient function let's you use a single key to jump to the next transient or zero crossing. Very usefull in drum editting)

Hope to get some input from you!

Unfortunately the answer in Cubase is a big no. I worked at a studio that had several TDM systems and coming back to Nuendo is one of the biggest things I miss. The tab to transient function makes drums editing so unbelievably easy. I wish someone would jump on the train put something like this in other programs. I'm not a big fan of how digidesign conducts business, otherwise I would have an LE system at home specifically those editing capabilities. Nuendo and cubase have the ability to get to transients, but it's in much more of a convoluted way.

I don't know much about Logic, but i don't think it's available on that platform either.

hope this helps, but probably not what you wanted to hear. But I'm with you pushing for this function.

If you decide to switch, LogicPro is Mac only of course, so if you're not on a Mac now you should go straight for Cubase. If you are on a Mac you can go for LogicPro as well for Cubase, tho' Cubase is said to run better on PC. Also, Cubase is more intuitive and has better audio possibilities, but LogicPro is much more a complete product for music production (especially for composing) regarding the amount of good plugs it has which are completely lacking in Cubase. If you are more in audio recording Cubase is stronger (just in case you didn't know, Cubase = Nuendo, just less some post stuff mainly aimed on video). Hope this helps...

Regards,

Roger
