Real world problem... New Ibook + Apogee Rosetta 800.

So, a couple weeks back I got myself a new Ibook to work on. It shipped with 10.4, and I have had no problems running any software on it, including the Logic Pro (which nicely shows up in the apple update ulility) which I recently switched to from ProTools. I picked up a new Rosetta 800 with the firewire card to use as the I/O for my laptop, but I just today found out is only supported upto 10.3.9.

Here is the config of the machine... which since it shipped with 10.4 I find it kinda stupid that I might have to now downgrade in order to update the firmware on the Rosetta (or to even have it show up in Core Audio, which it is currently not doing...).

Anyone running The Rosetta in 10.4 with success?

Wierd, I use my Rosettas through a Motu 2408mkIII via ADAT so I don't have your problem, but it seems like with Apogee and Apple working together recently... and all of the ads where a Rosetta with FW card are being used to front Logic, they've got to have a 10.4 update?!?!?!?

I'm running a 1.67 ghz powerbook G4 on OSX 10.4.4 with Logic pro 7.1.1 and its working just fine with my DA16X with the Xfirewire card. The Xfirewire card is the same card for both the Rosetta 800 and the DA16X (just different firmware--but even the Rosetta 800 firmware was working fine on my Mac) so you shouldn't have a problem.

This is exactly what I thought too. The system here has been compromised, and no solution offered. Actually, there was talk of a firmware update to install from an older machine, which I went through some trouble to implement. It was a total dead end, and after following the instructions to a T, the problem remains.

Apogee, get on top of it. Forget all the gadgets and marketing doodads for a moment and get your studio clients happy again. It isn't possible to buy a machine with legacy software to run your studio products on.
